Raphael is apprenticed to the renowned violin maker Nicolo Amati but secretly dreams of becoming a musician. One night, after sweeping up the sawdust in the workshop, Raphael reaches up and, like a ripe apple, plucks a violin from its hook. Then he begins to play. The story takes place in Cremona three hundred years ago and explores the beauty and mystery of the violin. Legendary actor Sir Roger Moore brings Amati’s Dream vividly to life.

The original music features Key-Thomas Märkl in a lyrical performance on a violin made by Amati’s most famous pupil, Antonio Stradivari.
